A fashionable retake on the Chinese women who came to South East Asia in the 1920s to the 1940s and took on jobs in the construction and industrial sector. They took on jobs that require hard labour and rejected jobs of drug (particularly opium) peddling, prostitution, or other vices, even if that meant they sometimes had to live in poverty. Their trademark Red Bandana was reinvented in this photo and shot in a village home that is soon to be torn down.
