Sorry, I am not a Photographer ~~~

I’m serious !!! But than again, why do you take so many photographs?Well, it’s just the preferred medium that I choose to express myself. When the fact that my drawing skills most probably isn’t up to mark says alot about why I took the “easy” way out and chronicle my thoughts thru e use of film and later thru digital media subsequently. Only to find out that it isn’t that “easy” !

First and foremost, my initial influences in photography are not even photographers and I have remain detached to gain a certain level of objectivity so as to not do what other people are doing….. There is a constant need to reinvent oneself and push the boundaries of what tradition defines as acceptable. One good example of an artist who is not limited by the canvas in which he paints and one of my biggest influences : David Mack ~~~

Mack is a American comic book artist best known for his original series : Kabuki. The story is set in Modern Japan after the Second World War. A very cyber punk look into Pop culture in the Land of the Rising Sun and how people are captivated by characters on a TV show…… characters who are in actual fact assassins who eliminate political and business rivals for a price. Shall not go to much into details but it does have a edgy and fetish like feel in terms of design and conceptualization. Mack’s style also continue to evolve as “The Circle of Blood” series spills over into later series whereby he utilizes the uses of many different materials to create collages that seem to pop out to grab it’s audience. He has also done issues for Daredevil and covers for other comic and even recording artistes.

The artist is nominated for numerous prestigious comic awards for his innovative storytelling, painting techniques and page design. He has also written and illustrated a children’s book called: The Shy Creatures .
